Product Information

Smudging is a valid concern that we addressed during development. As it turns out, our wrists produce minimal oil compared to our hands and fingers. Furthermore, we apply the best available anti-smudge coatings to our lenses. As a result, you can enjoy the convenience of having your glasses with you when you need them, without having to worry too much about smudging. We’ll also be including a case with a microfiber cloth in the box.

We use ultra-durable lenses that are 10x more impact resistant than glass or the standard plastic lenses that you are familiar with in most readers. Furthermore, we also utilize the best available anti-scratch and anti-smudge coatings. Like a watch or smartwatch, things can get damaged, but we do our best to ensure our products are durable enough to last for years.

We have gone through great lengths to balance comfort with having EyeWris stay securely on your face. EyeWris glasses utilize short "comfort-fit" arms that gently grip the temples for a secure and comfortable fit. They are soft, flexible, and grippy. One of the first things people say when trying on the glasses is that they are surprised at how comfortable they are and how well they are secured to the face. Of course, these aren't meant for going on a jog, but they are more than suitable for what portable readers are used for, like checking your phone, or walking around a store to look at labels.

Yes. EyeWris readers are very lightweight, and are designed to be comfortable both on the wrist and on the face. Everybody is shaped differently and we have done our best to comfortably accommodate most everyone. For those with concerns about pressure on the temples, studies show that the nerve bundles where discomfort occurs are located further back, closer to the ears, and our arms avoid this area. In our testing, users have reported little to no discomfort, even after prolonged reading sessions.

Our reading glasses have been cycle tested to last for years of normal use, with a minimum of 25,000 open and close cycles. The frames are made from extremely durable Swiss TR-90 thermoplastic, while the bridge is made from nickel-titanium memory metal and stainless steel. Lastly, our proprietary lenses are made from impact-resistant polycarbonate, and was originally developed for use in astronaut visors and space shuttle windshields. Please note that like any pair of high quality eyewear, we recommend that you take good care of your glasses for best results.

If you know your reading diopter strength:

If your reading diopter strength falls within the ranges indicated by our Mild, Medium, and Strong lens classifications, these lenses will work for you. Depending on where you fall within that range, you may find that you hold your phone or menu about 1-2 inches closer or farther away than usual for perfect optical clarity. We offer these 3 lens strength ranges because our proprietary lenses are curved, resulting in optical qualities that have benefits over traditional flat lenses. As is common with new eyewear, it may or may not take a few days to adjust to our curved lens optics.

If you do NOT know your reading diopter strength:

If you are unsure of your reading diopter strength, or if you are purchasing EyeWris readers as a gift, you may refer to the age-based table below. Typically, your optometrist will recommend reading glasses power based on your age, as age has a documented and predictable effect on our eyes.

With flexible arms, these glasses are also designed to accomodate nearly any face shape and size.

The type and quality of the materials used to make our readers is far more expensive than drug store readers. For instance, our nickel-titanium bridge alone costs more than the cost to manufacture many finished drugstore readers! Additionally, we have added blue blocking coatings and other technology to our lenses. Each pair of EyeWris readers are meticulously assembled by hand and are fit and finished to a very high standard.

Unfortunately, counterfeit products are a reality in the marketplace. Despite owning patents and trademarks both in the United States and internationally, there is little we can do to stop it other than to warn you that scam websites are using our photography and marketing material in their effort to cheat you with inferior knock-offs. At this present time, the only place genuine EyeWris reading glasses can be purchased is from this website.
